Best for

People in back-to-back meetings who want notes enhanced from their own jottings, without a bot joining the call.

Not great for

Keeping a long archive for free, or keeping recordings: the free plan keeps only 30 days of meeting history, and Granola doesn't store audio to replay.

What it is

Granola is an AI notepad for meetings. You jot notes as usual during a call, and afterwards Granola turns them into a clean, structured summary using a transcript of the conversation. It does not send a bot into your meetings: it transcribes your device’s audio directly, and it does not keep the recording.

That makes it popular with people in back-to-back meetings who dislike note-taker bots. It runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone and, since July 2026, Android. The free plan keeps 30 days of meeting history; Business is $14 per user a month.

Privacy: by default Granola may use anonymised data to improve models. Turn it off under Settings, Preferences, “Use my data to improve models for everyone”. Enterprise is opted out by default.

Your data

Granola doesn't send a bot into calls; it transcribes device audio live on Mac and Windows and doesn't keep the audio. By default it may use anonymised data to improve models; turn this off under Settings > Preferences > 'Use my data to improve models for everyone' (Enterprise is opted out by default).
