Strategy
The Feb 2025 AI Action Summit brought €109bn of private AI investment pledges; Choose France 2026 added €93bn more, mostly for AI infrastructure. Many pledges run to 2030 or later.
Regulation
No new AI regulator: AI Act enforcement is split across about 15 existing bodies, with CNIL covering banned practices and most high-risk uses. INESIA, the national AI evaluation and security institute, has a 2026–27 roadmap.
Compute
Jean Zay reached 125.9 petaflops in 2025 and the Alice Recoque exascale machine is due end-2027. SoftBank plans up to €75bn for 5 GW of data centres in Hauts-de-France.
