Best forGoogle AI subscribers who want short cinematic clips with native audio, made and edited in Flow without setting anything up.
Not great forAnyone who wants predictable costs or long videos: clips are short (Gemini app lists 10-second videos), Flow credits are shared with other tools, and the free tier is capped at low resolution.
Recent change Around Google I/O in May 2026, Google said Gemini Omni Flash would replace Veo for video generation in the Gemini app. Veo 3.1 is still offered in Google Flow and the Gemini API alongside Omni.
Google Flow is where most people use Veo, Google’s video generation model. Describe a shot and it makes a short clip with sound; Flow then lets you extend clips and stitch scenes together. Google is shifting video in the Gemini app itself to a newer model, Gemini Omni Flash, but Veo 3.1 remains available in Flow.
Access comes through Google’s AI plans rather than a separate subscription. The free tier has limited Flow access at lower resolution; Google AI Plus ($4.99 a month) includes 200 Flow credits a month, and Pro ($19.99) includes 1,000. Credits are shared with other Google tools, and clips are short, so it is better for shots and social clips than long videos.
Privacy follows Google’s Gemini Apps rules: with Keep Activity on, which is the default, some content may be reviewed and used to improve Google’s models.

Limited free plan: Google's plan page lists 'limited access to Google Flow' on the free tier. A third-party guide (Sep 2026) reports 50 daily Flow credits on Veo 3.1 at up to 720p.

Your data
With Gemini Apps 'Keep Activity' on (the default), Google says a subset of chats and uploads is reviewed by humans and used to improve its models. Turning Keep Activity off stops future chats being used for training, though Google still processes them for safety.
