Best for

Teams already using Notion for docs and wikis who want AI drafting, meeting notes and search across their workspace without leaving it.

Not great for

Individuals on Free or Plus: they get only a limited trial of AI, and full access requires the per-seat Business plan.

Recent change No separate AI add-on is sold any more: full Notion AI (Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search) comes only with the Business and Enterprise plans. Free and Plus get a limited trial. Custom Agents are billed in Notion credits ($10 per 1,000 credits/month). In Sept 2026 admins gained controls over which models agents can use.

What it is

Notion AI is the AI built into Notion, the docs-and-wiki workspace. It can draft and summarise pages, fill in database columns, take meeting notes, and search across everything in your workspace, and its agent can carry out multi-step tasks inside Notion.

It makes the most sense for teams already living in Notion. The catch in 2026 is pricing: Notion no longer sells AI as a separate add-on. Free and Plus plans get only a limited trial, and full AI comes with the Business plan, around $24 per member a month billed monthly. That is steep if you only wanted AI for yourself.

Notion says that by default neither it nor its AI providers train on your data, and that providers keep it for 30 days or less (zero on Enterprise).

Notion says that by default neither it nor its AI subprocessors (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic) train on customer data, unless you opt in. LLM providers keep data for 30 days or less on non-Enterprise plans and zero days on Enterprise.
