The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) published its strategy to 2030 on 14 October. It includes a new Centre for AI and Digital Health, an AI tool to check clinical trial plans, and AI to spot drug safety problems earlier.
The regulator will publish an action plan on AI in medicines development in 2027. Fast-track scientific advice will be cut from 90 to 45 days, RAPS reported.
Why it matters: the UK regulator is using AI in its own work, not only setting rules for AI products.
