The Gates Foundation said on 15 September it will spend at least $1bn over two years on AI tools for educators, health workers and farmers, KUOW reported.
40% is for AI education programmes in the US and abroad, 40% for health, and 10% each for agriculture and languages. Chief executive Mark Suzman said the foundation is interested in outcomes.
Why it matters: it is one of the largest single philanthropic commitments to AI in schools.
