Claude is Anthropic’s AI assistant. It handles the same everyday jobs as other chat assistants (answering questions, drafting, summarising, analysing files), and people tend to choose it for the quality of its writing, for careful reasoning, and for working through long documents and code.
The free plan includes web search, file creation and memory, using Anthropic’s Sonnet and Haiku models. Pro adds the larger Opus model and Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding agent. What Claude does not do is generate images or video, so if those matter to you, pair it with a tool from the images or video categories.
On privacy, Anthropic’s consumer terms allow chats on Free, Pro and Max to be used for training unless you switch off the model-improvement setting in your privacy settings. Team and Enterprise accounts are not used for training.

Anthropic's consumer terms allow training on Free/Pro/Max chats unless you opt out via the 'Model Improvement' / 'Help improve Claude' privacy setting (Anthropic Consumer Terms; privacy.claude.com); feedback and safety-flagged chats may still be used.
