TÜV SÜD, the German testing and certification body, and Accenture have presented a “Physical AI Safety Suite” meant to speed up independent safety certification for factories and warehouses that use AI-driven robots alongside human workers.
Announced on 21 October at NVIDIA GTC Berlin, the idea is to move much of today’s manual facility assessment and certification paperwork into digital twins and AI-powered simulation, so layouts, robot fleets and equipment can be checked earlier in engineering. It is built on NVIDIA’s Omniverse, Cosmos, Isaac Sim and Halos tools.
TÜV SÜD estimates the digital process could bring production online up to 30% sooner. The release does not say how that figure was worked out, names no customers, and describes the suite as a concept rather than a product.
Certification is one of the slower steps in putting autonomous robots into real plants. A certifier backing simulation-based checks matters more than the speed claim, if regulators and insurers accept the results.
